The headland of Flamborough extends into the North Sea for approximately 6 miles on the east coast of Yorkshire, England, and has a very impressive natural scenery. The chalk cliffs rise to 400 feet along the north coast and are home to many nesting sea birds, including Puffins. In the east there are caves and stacks, with rocky outcrops which have caused many shipwrecks. The cliffs to the south are not as high but there is a spectacular view across the bay towards Bridlington. If you have an interest in history, geology, birds, walking and/or sightseeing then there is a wealth of opportunities for you in the locality. The area is quiet and peaceful, but enjoyable and interesting, and well worth spending time discovering.
